Creating - Kids must CREATE and design justifications to convince their team's spokesperson that one answer is superior to another.
Collaborating - Kids must COLLABORATE when discussing possible answers. Analyzing characters, settings, plots, comparing and contrasting books; it's all part of the battle process.
Communicating - Kids must COMMUNICATE to arrive at a consensus before the spokesperson decides the final answer. An individual commonly shares his/her percentage of certainty and justifies the answer by citing examples from the text.
Critical Thinking – The spokesperson for the team must use CRITICAL THINKING when judging the validity of the team’s answers and choosing which will be the final answer.
